Hi everyone and happy Friday! This weekend we've got a great new recipe for you to try. You've worked hard for the last five days, (and if you haven't, we won't tell anybody) so celebrate your efforts with some coffee treats from your friends at Whole Latte Love.
For our recipe this week, we took a trip back to Dan's kitchen for a frozen coffee creation with a little something extra in it. Taking the classic combination of Strawberries and Cream, Dan's given it just the slightest of twists to produce a cocktail that he's affectionately named Strawberries and Crema.
As with the espresso martinis from last week, you're going to want to start by brewing yourself a shot of espresso in advance so that it has time to cool off. Next, add a scoop of vanilla and a scoop of strawberry ice cream to the blender. Once that's taken care of, prep your strawberries.
Rinse the berries, cut off the stems and toss them into the blender along with your ice cubes. If you want, you can also just use frozen strawberries in place of fresh berries and ice cubes, it depends on what you like. Finally, add your shot of espresso along with a shot or two of the Dragon Berry rum! I mentioned milk in the list of ingredients because I find it helps everything blend smoothly and you don't need much.
Once you've added all of your ingredients all that's left is to blend until it's smooth. Pour it into a tall glass, and of course, garnish with a swirl of whipped cream. Now, Dan is of the opinion that if it looks good, it'll taste good. So if you want, pick out your most vibrant berry and slice it so that you can hang it from your glass as shown. You could also just plop it into your whipped cream if you like, and when you're done, you can plop yourself into your favorite chair, put your feet up, and enjoy the weekend!
