The JURA E6 is a super-automatic espresso machine capable of brewing espresso and long coffees, and steaming milk for cappuccinos. Stand alone milk foam and hot water options can be programmed to produce a desired amount of water or frothed milk for making cocoas or tea lattes. JURA’s Aroma G3 grinder is a nice addition to the E6, making for quiet, consistent grinding with higher efficiency.
For a more full-bodied espresso and decidedly thicker crema, the E6 pre-infuses coffee using JURA’s Intelligent Pre-Brew Aroma System, followed up by the Pulse Extraction Process, which pulses water through the grounds in short intervals to get the most out of the extraction. For milk drinks, the E6 Platinum is a little more hands on than other JURA machines, so you’ll need to reposition your cup for milk froth.
On-screen instructions indicate when to open and close the steam valve using the dial on the right of the machine. The result is a frothy cappuccino milk. This isn’t adjustable, so if you’re looking for a machine that can make lattes as well, best take a look at another of JURA’s one-touch machines. Navigating the E6 is incredibly easy, and it’s just as simple to keep clean, especially with the Clearyl Smart water filter installed in the 1.8 L reservoir to ensure great tasting coffee and reduce the need for descaling.
As on all JURA machines, the cleaning cycles are completely automated, and a warning pops up on the screen to let you know when it’s time for a little maintenance. All you have to do is add the designated cleaner and press start, and the JURA E6 cleans its own brew group, milk system or descales the boiler system. If the E6 sounds great, but you’re looking for machine that can make lattes too, the next step up is the E8; or, for even higher capacities for a small office or home entertaining, take a look at the WE8.
The JURA E6 is one the first espresso machines to feature the innovative Pulse Extraction Process. It makes a more full-bodied, flavorful espresso with thicker crema compared to drinks made with other machines. JURA machines tend to be very user-friendly, and the E6 is no exception. It has very simple controls, letting you make coffee shop quality drinks with easy.
The Variable Brewing Unit lets you prepare your drinks with anywhere from 5-16 grams of coffee, and JURA’s Intelligent Pre-Brew Aroma System pre-infuses those grounds before brewing to ensure the best possible extraction. You can also make adjustments to the coffee temperature and volume for each individual drink.
The E6 employs JURA’s innovative Pulse Extraction Process brewing system. As opposed to a constant flow, water is instead pulsed through the grounds in short intervals that extract greater intensity and aroma while shortening the overall brew time. With P.E.P., espresso and ristretto can be prepared with greater clarity and flavor than ever before.
JURA's Intelligent Water System makes use of RFID technology to automatically detect when the machine has been fitted with a water filter. The CLEARYL Smart / Pro Smart water filter protects against limescale, chlorine, and heavy metals in your water to preserve the flavor of your coffee and extend the lifespan of your machine. Simply install it and JURA’s I.W.S. will do the rest.
JURA's Aroma G3 grinder ensures quiet, even, and super fast grinding. The grinder can be adjusted to one of seven fineness settings to affect the overall extraction time, and features a refined burr set with cutting angles that have been perfected for more even grinding and higher efficiency.
